Slow shifting problem

1990 Lumina APV, 3.1, 203,000 miles. I had the alternator replaced on Friday. I didn't drive on Saturday. Sunday: first gear now runs out to 5,000 rpm before shifting; second gear 3500 rpm before shifting, etc. All gears winds way out before shifting. Any relation to the alternator replacement or just coincidental? Is it worth replacing the transmission module to see if that fixes the problem? If so, where is this located on the vehicle? NOTE: The transmission shifts a bit better after the engine warms up, but still does not shift at the proper acceleration points. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Well your altenator has nothing to do with your transmision so before you go blowing your money on a mechanic or parts you dont need you should try changing the tranmission fluid and filter it doesnt cost alot and if you havnt done it in the last couple of years then it wouldnt hurt to do it anyway, if that's not the problem then talk to a mechanic to get thier opinion. Let me know how it works out.
