I HAVE A 1999 CHEVY LUMINA.I DROVE IT THE OTHER DAY AND IT WAS ALMOST FELT LIKE THE IGNITION WAS SHUT OFF FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER. THE CAR RAN GOOD FOR A WEEK AFTER THAT.I DROVE IT AND PARKED IT AT A PARKING GARAGE AND WHEN I CAME BACK TO START IT(ABOUT 4 HOURS LATER)IT WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH ON, I CAN JUMP THE SOLINOID ON THE STARTER AND IT WILL START AND THEN DIE.I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE IGNITION SWITCH. ANY IDEAS?

Check if you have a security light on and or blinking
and if so start with a fully charged battery
turn key on and watch the security light blinking it will take up to 10 min
and when light go off turn key off and then try to start
most likely bad switch
