we have a 1997 chevrolet lumina and none of the back lights work. The flasher does work. We have checked the fuses and bulbs and they are fine. Why will the brake and signal lights not work?

The flasher fuse could be faulty. Its usually silver and round or yellow, black and rectangular in shape and plastic. Its usually under the dash by the steering column or in the fuse box

Look in the fuse box, if not there, look under dash near steering column. You may need some light to see it

Are the dash bezel lights out too? If so it could be a corroded contact inside of the fuse box. I had this problem with my Lumina. Fuses were fine but a contact was corroded.
