Engine Cooling problem
1996 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Automatic 76000 miles

Ac has quit working and the car is overheating. I replaced a leaking hose that I thought was the culprit of the leaking coolant. Must not have been. Still overheating even thought there is fluid in the auxiliary tank. When I take the cap off I can put at least a quart or more into the radiator and it solves the problem for a little while. But will happen again eventually. I also have noticed that the engine fans behind the radiator do not appear to be working. Any ideas?

Hi vgsullivan, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

I also have noticed that the engine fans behind the radiator do not appear to be working.

Power the fan motors direct from the battery if okay test the fan relays and engine coolant temperature sensor.

You might also want to replace the thermostat-let me know
