1996 Chevy Lumina check engine light

1996 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the check engine light does not turn on when the OBD system tries to turn it on -as ah matter of it does not come on wheh I turn the key over, I see the other lights but not that one. Help me please.

With key on engine off light should be on
if engine start and drive with no problem
suspect a bad bulb or bulb was removed
check for codes if have codes and check engine light is not on
some one removed the bulb and or the bulb out and need to be replaced
