1995 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Automatic

have a 1995 chevy lumina. Battery cable was faulty prohibiting car from starting. Replaced battery and positive cable. Had to remove washer fluid reservoir and air intake to get to battery. Car started and ran normal but ran out of fuel. Have since added 4gallons of fuel but car continues to stall. Has been 3 days and car still stalls.

Check the fuel pressure to rule out a clogged fuel filter/In tank pick up screen/ and a faulty fuel pump.

This is why you never want to run your fuel completely out. The pump will suck up any dirt/rust from the bottom of the tank. The filter screen will clog up first, then the filter, it can go as far as clogging up your injectors. Im willing to bet you clogged one of the 3 up. Odds are its the screen thats on the pump. Can you here the pump when you key the car on but dont start it? It will be a low whirring sound.
