1992 Chevy Lumina car stalling

My car runs fine for about 10 or 12 miles. Then it wants to die. Sometimes I can get it to go but it dosnt want to run, it has a real ruff sound and runs real ruff, when it does. The check engine light has bee on for a long time, but it seems to run fine til it gets good and hot. After it cools off it will run fine till it gets good and hot again.

Can you get your engine scanned for the codes? Would be a great help post back the exact codes.

Also get some new spark plugs and wires.
