2002 police Impala 3.8L transmission prob

A few days ago, I noticed that my transmission has started slipping a little. I want to take care of it before it gets worse. Any ideas? It only happens between 1st and 2nd gear.

Miles on the car? Ses light on?Check the fluid and see what it looks like first, this will be a good indication of whats going on, it should be red, if its brown and burned andd contains any foreign material on the dipstick , you may have worn the intermediate and direct clutches, lmk

I checked the fluid, and it was at the level. I added a bottle, and now it seems to be working better. I had a leak, which im taking care of this friday
