Welcome to the forum. You can use different resistors at the proper terminals, for the fuel pump connector/sending unit. If the gage on the dash reacts properly and steady to each resistor, then everything from the test-point to the gage is ok. If the connector is ok, the problem is the sending unit in the tank.
If the gage still acts-up, possible problem with dash cluster-- pcm-- wiring circuit.
