I have read this before, but wanted to get a second opinion. Every so often, my car won't start. I have to wait 10-20 minutes before I can get it started. I read that Impalas are bad for problems with Passlock. I am wondering if that is the problem. Anyone have any advice or remedies for this? The problem is getting worse and it happens about everyday now. Also, rear interior lights do not work now.

Thanks!

Does the security light blink when this happends. May be a possible pass lock sensor or even a fuel pressure regulator leaking. Have them both checked

Thanks for your reply. Sometimes the Security light blinks and sometimes it does not when the car will not start. The Check Engine Light is on all the time now though and came on right before I started having this problem. I had it checked at Auto Zone and they read a code of P0440 EVAP. They told me it could be the gas cap needing replaced. I am wondering though since you mentioned the fuel pressure regulator.

I have gotten it to start by moving the key to the ON position and then back and then to ON again relatively quickly and then it will start, but only sometimes.

I guess I will take it in and I will let you know what comes of it.

One other thing, I did have the crank sensor replaced last year. I had the starting problem then but rare. Main problem then: car stalled while driving.

Your p0440 is most likely a evap soleniod or a gas cap. But see if you can have a dealer scan it. Auto zone cant do body control systems.
