Engine Mechanical problem
1985 Sunrunner Boat V8

Hi this is actually a question about my boat engine which is a small block chevy. So here is my problem the other day I went and basically did a tune up. I have a 1985 sunrunner with a merch crusier 260 with a thunderbolt electronic igniition. So what all have I done you ask? Ok I changed the Cap, Rotor, Coil, and plug wires I did not do the spark plugs because I could not get to them and did not feel like taking more things apart to get to them. So I did the cap, rotor, and wires then tried to start the engine and got nothing just cranking. So I thought maybe I messed up on the firing order so I checked it and it was fine. So then I thought ok maybe the coil went bad so I went and bought a new one and tried to start it again and still nothing just cranking. So I went and got a spark tester and hooked it to the coil and what do you know no spark from the coil I even hooked the old one back up and got the same resault. I looked over all the electrical wires in the engine capartment and they all look just fine. I just cant seem to figure out what the problem could be it has my head spinning. Any help would be really nice at this point. Thank you
P.S. I would also like to add that all the parts were ordered online for this engine and for this ignition system. The boat had a hard time starting before I worked on it but now it just wont start.

Ok it has what I think is called a pass through Rotor. Let me try to explain this it has what looks like a normal rotot button but it has a alum. Base with like notches in it screwed to the bottom of the rotor. This alum. Base passes by this I guess you can call it a sensor I have checked this part and it had corrosion on it so I lightly sanded it and still have no spark. I have tried to take this sensor out of the dist. But cant seen to get the angle just right and did not want to brake it.
