I have 89 Corvette with a 350 engine that has 75000 miles on it. The check engine light came on a couple years ago. When I am in heavy traffic the temperature gage goes up. It starts fine when cold and purrs like a kitten. Once I turn it off it will not start again until it has gone cold. Any suggestions? I have had it in the shop for 3 weeks. Can the catalytic converters be plugged (My thought, not the mechanics)? He has changed ignition parts, sensors and even the computer, but to no avail. The car is not driven at all during the winter. I live in central Missouri so it is not a moisture problem I don't think. Thanks for your help.

Have '89 Vette conv. 6 speed, with same problem. A-OK when cold, but when engine hot, WILL NOT START until engine cold. Occurred since last year, not too long after MAS unit replaced by dealer due to rough idle, but dealer says no connection to "new" problem. Car otherwise excellent. "Cat back" Borla ss exhaust system and new converter installed 3 yrs ago. Do not use in winter. Thank you.

Recently got a 88, 78,000 miles, had same problem. Went into shop for checking of rough idle & not starting when hot. They had injectors sent out for cleaning, 1 was bad & replaced. Also found the fuel sending unit was getting rust into gas tank thus plugging up fuel filter then affecting injectors. After that it started when hot just fine. Wasn't too cheap, $475 for labor, $150 to clean injectors, $50 for 1 new injector. The injectors were made by Accel & when I called for the single injector, the guy at Accel said the set of 8 was like $350. I would have gone with all new ones if I new that before the mechanic sent them out to be cleaned & tested. Hope this helps some. Rich
