I was driving to pick up my son when, all of the sudden, my headlights turned off and the emergency lights came on and started flashing, and I was unable to turn my lights back on. Help please.

Dead short in the headlight asembly. There is a broke or bare wire somewhere around the headlight assembly. What you are experincing is the ESO Emergency Sensor Overide. This means the car thinks its has been in wreck. I would get this checked quickly because it has been known to explode the air bags.
