Knocking noise

2005 chevorlet cobalt, 36000, 2, 4 L. When I put my car in neutral and was rolling without putting it into gear, I heard a knocking noise, but when I put it in gear there was no noise, please help me with this question. Thank you

I have experienced that same knocking noise and I found out that the oil was low. But I would take it in just to get it checked out to make sure that it doesnt turn inot something EXPENSIVE.
