1996 Chevy Cheyenne Starting when outside tempeture gets be

When the outside tempeture gets below 40 the truck will start and die several times before it will stay running, ive checked the fuel pressure and it is fine, I bought a coolant tank heater and that helped for a awhile so I replaced the fuel pressure regulator still have the same problem

Check/replace the ECT(engine coolant temp) sensor, if you post the engine size, I can tell you were it is, but most are on the side of the drivers side head, between last 2 plugs.
