1993 Chevy Cheyenne Starter

The starter keeps going out on my 93 Cheyenne. I replaced it just a week ago. It ran good. Now it has done the same thing. I am not sure if it is something new or if it is just the starter that keeps doing it.

Check for power at purple wire on the starter solenoid while key at start position do you have it-if so and starter not engaging engine its defective. No power troubleshoot the ignition switch
