So this truck sat for quite a while, so I would say it needs a bottle of heet but I doubt it. It needed a new starter though obviously cause it finally started. Also dont think the ignition switch rod was doing its job, so turning the switch off manually for now.

BUT NOW:

I am getting pinging/sputtering now in third and fourth gear, which is HAS to be a timing issue now because the faster I go, the more pinging/sputtering its doing.

I am going to double check my firing order for my spark plugs, and this is a fuel injected if that makes any difference. I did replace the distributor cap and the rotor, but that requires nothing special.

Hi there,

This may be a fuel related issue, start with taking a fuel sample and checking it for contaminants, start here.

K. I had spark plug wire 6 in spot number 5 on the distributor, and number 5 spark plug in spot number 6.

Now the truck is running like a champ, except a few bolts and screws here and there that need to be put back. And can use the stereo now when the key is turned off, couldnt do that before.
