1971 Chevy Chevelle 71 Chevelle has no power

Engine Performance problem
1971 Chevy Chevelle V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 0

Just installed a 350 crate motor and a TH350 trans with all the fluff, e.G.
headers, high rise intake, 750 edelbrock, 50K volt ignition etc. Engine will
rev up like it should to 6K rpms in park and neutral. But in gear it will not
go over 2K rpms - just bogs down and stalls out? Did check timing and
it advances with rpms. Any ideas?

Is the carb new?Sounds like the powervalve in the carb is stuck closed or damaged, did engine backfire on initial starup?

You wrote aTH 350 correct? Did you get any good stuff done to the trans, like maybe a manual shift valve body? If so, you could be trying to get moving in high gear, instead of first gear. Some of the valve bodies had a reverse shift pattern, and that could mess you up. You could also have a torque convertor problem.
