Chevy Celebrity stalling

I have a 1986 Chevy Celebrity that has about 80,000 miles on it. My problem is this. When I'm driving my car will stall. Right before it stalls there's a loud sound. Kind of like the sound popcorn makes. Also, there is sometimes a smell of rotten eggs. I don't know too much about cars and I don't know what's wrong with mine. Please Help.

Kinda souns like the catylytic converter to me. Probably pretty clogged up and creating back pressure which stalls engine and starts popping when the pressure forces it's way out. Smell is probably clog trying to burn it's way out. Think it;s time yo find a shop you can trust and have that checked out. It's gonna cost you a few bucks but better that than walking. Good luck
