my problem is there is a ringing noise coming from my car when idling, or when I release the gas pedal. I thought it was my tensioner going bad, so I replaced that the other day. It worked for a minute or two, but the noise has returned. It is only while in drive, or neutral. I have not noticed it in park.

i would greatly appreciate a diagnosis on this problem.

Is youre car an auto or manual transmission. Hows the condition of youre drive belt. I am thinking of the noises you are hearing are from the fuel running through the fuel rail system, My car has been doing it for a bit, No performance troubles with it. Just anoning sound, Its common with 2.2L gm motors. I unless its causing preformance issues, I fix it, If not I wouldnt worry about it.

Good Luck.
