I have a 2000 chevy cavalier, 2.4 liter engine with 65,000 miles. I was driving on the freeway when my car started overheating so I got off the freeway and saw that my coolant was low so I put more in there. I started driving again for about 15 mins going 65-70 and it started overheating again so I got off again to see that my coolant was low again and I saw a leak under the car. It was late so I drove it very slowly to a hotel and parked it, the next morning I drove it to a shop and they said the water pump was leaking and I needed new headgaskets but what do u think!

Signs of head gasket problems is white smoke or coolant pouring out the tail pipe, or even the radiator or expansion tank boiling over, which can also cause the vehicle to misfire. You can also pull out the spark plugs to see if there is coolant on them.
