Car overheats when idling

2002 Cavalier stickshift 84,000 miles 4cyl.
Car overheats while sitting still, cools down when moving. A/C blows hot air when idling, works when moving.

My thoughts was the same until I noticed the cooling fan wasn't working. After checking wires I eventually found the relay and it was bad. I replaced it and it seems to have corrected the problem. Thanks for your help.
