When I try to turn my car on it makes a clicking sound instead of turning over. I can turn my windshield wipers on but they move very very slowly. I dont know if it is my battery or my alternator. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello,

This could be due to a weak battery.
If the battery is discharged or weak it will have enough power to turn on the lights and other accessories but not enough to start eh engine.

First you need to try is to jump start the vehicle.

Here is a helpful guide on proper jump-starting procedure:

If the vehicle jump starts and runs normal, then it is simply a bad battery and needs to be replaced.

If even with tying to jump start it and the vehicle only clicks, then the issue could be a bad starter. It can also be due to having loose or corroded battery cables.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
