Transmission problem
2002 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My cavalier recently leaked out most of its transmission fluid. I found that the previous owner had used a helicoil to fix one of the pan crews and it had come loose. My question is, Does the cavalier in this year have some sort of low fluid shutoff where it won't allow me to tart the vehicle? If so once I repair the pan screw do I havev to reset the vehicle somehow?
Thank you for any help.

Hello -

When you get back with me... Please let me know the size of your engine in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.

I am sorry, I am not understanding your question.

If I understand you correctly, most of the transmission fliud leaked out and now the car doesn't start?

When you turn the key do the dash lights come on?

When you turn it to start does the engine turn making noise?

the eighth digit is a 4
Yes now that the fluid leaked out it will not start.
I do get dash lights.
The engine does not turn over but I hear the solenoids clicking and a sound from near the fire wall that sounds like something is trying to run or pump.

Hello -

Are you sure the battery isn't dead?

Try putting the gear select neutral and try there.

Boy, it sure sounds like your battery is dead.

Turn on the head light and try to crank..... Do they get really dim?
