I am wondering what could be causing my car to run louder. As far as gas mileage, it is about the same. I saw a story on people stealing cadallic converters for the money. My car was left unattended for four days while I was out of town. Where do I look to see if I still have one? Is there anything other than a cadallic converter that would make it run louder?

Did it start as soon as you started the car after the 4 days?
Are you getting a check engine lite?
Look under the car from the passenger side about even with the front of the front door. You should see the exhaust pipe and then it has a flange and then the catalytic converter is about 8 inches wide and then the pipe continues on. No breaks, all continuous.
Listen to see where the escessive noise is coming from-under the car or at the engine.
Hope this helps, VIC
