2002 Chevy Cavalier car dies completely

Trying to figure out why car dies, we have taken to mechanic and he can not find anything wrong, we have changed battery. We make sure nothing is left on and it keeps dieing, they have put volt checker on and it has not picked up anything. Can you help

Put new battery in ran fine for 2 days
went out to start car nothing
it does not crank

Suspect bad alternator
