Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also, if the check engine light comes on, have you had the computer scanned? Also, what evap code are you getting?

Yes have checked for vacuum leak cant seem to find any or any pin holes anywere. The evap code that comes up is PO 440. I have replaced gas cap, checked fuel pump pressure, fule filter and lines all seem to be ok. Going down the list of possible causes. Have not done a complete computer scan though. Can reset and engine light will stay out for about 3 days then come back on. Its like a needle in a hay stack I guess to find cause.

It is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The code you got for the EVAP is a generic code that can mean just about anything. However, when there is a leak, such as a fuel cap, it will say large leak detected, small leak detected.

Everything sounds good which leads me to believe you may have a crank sensor going bad.
