I have 2000 cavalier that overheats. Replaced thermostat twice, replaced water pump, flushed radiator and heater core - both seem to have flow. Start engine and after about 5 to 10 minutes engine gets hot. Doesn't seem like coolant is circulating. Lower rad hose is cold, same with heater core hoses. Upper hose gets hot, but could be from engine heat. Also, bubbling noise coming from upper rad hose. No water in oil. No white smoke from exhaust. Smoke or steam comes from overflow bottle (radiator tank) half a minute or so after starting engine. Radiator cap is on said overflow bottle, not on radiator. Could this be a clog somewhere like radiator or even engine coolant passages or bad head gasket? Thanks! Has 2.2 engine. Also, engine runs good. No missing or rough idle.

Do a block test. Go to a local parts store and ask for a block test kit. This will test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system.
