1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 127939 miles

I have just purchased a 99 Chevy Cavalier 127939 km, and when the gas pedal is pressed a high pitched whinny noise is present. I have also noticed that when the car is in park I can hear the whinny noise as well. I would like to get to the bottom of the problem before my 3 month warranty is up on the car.

I think that it could be either the power steering pump or the alternator. Take it to somebody else to have it looked at, then where it was purchased for the best honest answer.

The other problem I have started to experience twice now is when I start the engine the I just get a click click noise, and I have to wiggle the cables a couple of times before it turns over, and I noticed one time a spark coming from under the hood. Is this related to the alternator?

The clicking is more than likely a bad battery connection. Take it back to dealer and have them fix both problems, under the 3 month warranty.
Have them check the charging system and keep the written results with you.
