Hi,

On my Cavalier the front right wheel squeaks.

It is in proportion to how fast I am diriving. So when I am driving really slow it goes squeak. Squeak. Squeak.
but when I am driving faster it goes squeaksqueaksqueak really fast.

So, I think this is a wheel bearing problem. Does that sound right? What else could it be? The noise is only coming from the right front wheel, no where else.

Also, how much could I expect to pay a local mechanic to fix it? I understand that you cant give me an exact price, but just a range so that I know I am not being completly ripped.

Thank you!

First you need to be sure it isnt the brakes making the noise, they will be far less expensive. If it is th ebearing, the parts are about $200 or so depending if you go factory or aftermarket and it is about 1 hour of labor to change it
