1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

when I put my car in drive the jerks back and causes the pulleys to get knocked out of alignment. Can the cause be the motormounts?

Excessive movement could cause the pulleys to come in contact with the frame.

Use large prybar and measure movement in mounts, sounds like one or more are collapsed or broke.
