I recently bought a 1998 Cavalier Z-24 that had been attacked by rodents, a huge number of wires had been chewed through, I hace repaired the wiring but the fuel pump will not come on, I even changed it but still have same results. I have power on the large pink wire at the pump relay but not at the pump, do you guys have any suggestions. Thank you, Mike

If wiring is OK then check fuel pump relay and fuses. The pink wire only runs from fuse to the relay. The grey wire is the one need to test, it runs from relay to the pump. Does it have power at the pump on grey wire? If not then relay may be bad.

No Power on grey wire, swapped relay with the A/C relay no change, could both relays be bad? I tried checking them but nothing seems to happen when I apply power to the relay with jumper wires, might be doing it wrong though, not sure. Thanks, mike

Well I changed the relay, but while I was at it I checked voltage at relay base, have power on pink wire but no power on green with white stripe wire that comes from the computer, is there any safety circuits that will tell the computer to not turn on the fuel pump, cause I really dont want to spend $200 plus for a new computer if its something else, thanks again for all your help, Mike

No your vehicle doesn't have any type of inertia (fuel shut off) switch
