1998 Cavalier starting troubles

The car is a 98 chevrolet cavalier with a 2.2L SFI engine with 74,000 miles With a no crank no start condition. When I turn the key it makes a rapid clicking noise. Any idea what it might be.

I would first make sure youre battery is fully charged, Then if it keeps happening, I would also make sure the current is their, Could have a weak cell in the battery, In which needs to be replaced, Also youre starter could be acting up.
