I got new brakes and drums. I can't get the drum over the new brakes. Is their some adjustment to bring the brakes in? The old and new drums measure the same. I called a differant auto parts place to make sure I had the right parts, and they are. I also looked at the emer. Cable. I could not find any adjustment on it.

Can any body help?

Hi there,

There will be an adjustment point for the hand brake either at the Handel or on the cable under the car. There will also be a brake shoe adjuster, back them both off, some times change over shoes are too thick and need to be radius ground. Any lip on the drum should also be machined off. Make sure that the shoes are central before fitting drum, or you migh not get it on.
