1995 Chevy Cavalier engine overheating

The engine overheats I think the thermostat is bad but I dont know I have also been told it could be the temperature control sensor.I havent seen the electric fan kick on. Please any info I can get would be appreciated, thank you.

If the radiator fan is not coming on than first check fuses and radiator fan relay. If these are OK than the engine coolant temp. (ECT) sensor is likely to be at fault

The purge valve cut on and off the fan on that car
