1994 Chevy Cavalier oil light & knocking

Oil light comes on when I come to a stop engine knocking oil level ok!?

Remove the oil sending unit and install a mechanical gauge. Start the engine cold and let it warm up to normal operating temperature. Check for proper oil pressure.

Post results and I will follow up.

Do NOT drive vehicle until issue is fixed or severe damage will occur to internal components of engine.
