When idling, the coolant light is off, but if I rev the engine, the coolant warning light comes on. Why is this?

When revving engine, this pushes more coolant through the system. Ensure your coolant level is at the proper Fill line.

Now I am realizing that the coolant is leaking from under the engine somewhere. I can't seem to pinpoint the leak as it appears that the sump is not cracked and the hoses also appear to be fine. When I turned off the engine after driving it, coolant just seemed to pour out from looked like the area near the tranny pan. Can you think of where this could be coming from??? I only paid $800 for the car and hope it won't be a BIG expense to get this fixed.

Hmm, sounds like maybe your transmission cooler line(s) may have failed. Did you say you inspected the cooler lines around the tranny as well? Look for damages or loose connections.

Nice little Cavalier by the way.
