1989 Chevy Caprice

My 1989 Chevy caprice takes a while to get out of first gear, after it gets out of first gear it goes fine after that. This problem only happened after my car got broken into and my car radio got ripped out of the car. What would be the problem?

Make sure the ATF is full. Also, if you haven't had it serviced reciently, try that. Also, there are shift solenoids that can cause problems. You may want to have them checked.
