Engine Performance problem
1986 Chevy Caprice V8 Automatic

My caprice motor runs fine, but it doesn't put out the power like it should. What could it be? I mean when I get press the acclerator it's kind of sluggish. What all could I do to try to get more performance power from my engine?

Unless it is an SS you are dealing with a 305 and they werent exactly know for big HP. You can try aftermarket exhaust (smog legal) fresh air intake systems (smog legal) underdrive pulleys, maybe even a litte more gear in the rear end depending on where you drive it, lower gear for the street ( 373's or so) will make it a little quicker. Depending on where you live and your smog laws, there isnt too much you can do to it internally
