1998 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl 130, 00 miles

So I turn on my camaro, drive it down the block or a few miles if i'm lucky, and it shuts down. Sometimes it will start right back up, and sometimes it won't. I just got the car a couple months ago and it had been sitting for a while. Someone said it may be the fuel line, others have said to check the anti-theft system.?

What dash lights are you getting? It's possible you fuel filter is clogged.

As you turn you key, the fuel pump pressurizes the system rather quickly. And even if the filter is clogged, the pump could push enough fuel past a clogged filter while your engine is not running yet.

But as soon as you start your engine, the pump isn't capable of pushing enough fuel to keep the engine running for long.

However, this is not the only thing that could cause your problems. I suggest having your car drive tested with a capable scanner connected.

When your car shuts off, the scanner's live data stream shuold catch a problem.
