What would cause the oil pressure to drop really low after th car warms up. But when the car is cold it runs at a perfect pressure im just wondering if it would be the oil pump going out I need to change the oil it needs it but I dont want to change it and find that it is the pump in then have to do it again. Any help would be appreciated thank you?

Hi there,

Have the oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge first and post the readings, cold, hot idle & hot 2,000RPM. Now as the oil heats up it thins out and oil pressure will drop, also if you have worn crank & cam bearings as the oil thins out you will experience lower pressure readings as well,

You will be looking at a major engine re build to make it right.
