Electrical problem
1994 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1994 Camaro V6 (3.4) it came with a 5 speed manual trans. I swapped it to a automatic from a 1988 S-10 pickup.
The speedometer doesn't work.
When we plugged it in it went to 110 and the car shut off.

HELP ME PLEASE.

Thx

Pete

When yo plugged it in did it go striaight to 110, or was it while you were driving it? Could be a calibration problem between the manual trans and the automatic one for the speedo.

The car was on a lift, the man started it and it went right to 110 then shut off. I'd say in a matter of 5 seconds.

So I take it that the wiring harness and PCM has been changed as well? If the car ws in Park, I would unplug the VSS and see if it still does it, if so the wiring is wrong or possibly grounding out somewhere

The wiring harness was not changed because we put in a 1988 s10 trans that didnt need to be shifted electronically

Try the correct VSS for your car with automatic. May not be compatable with each other due to the large difference in years. Honestly dont think it will ever run properly without the right harness and trans for the year of the car/PCM
