Hey my car has a slider for the climate controls. It has vent, heater, defrost. It slides into heater and vent fine. But once I try to slide it over to defrost it wont budge. I suspect somethings down the vent. Could this be right. If so how do I get it out. And whats the best way to get at it. Thanks a lot.

Yes you could be right. When changing from vent to defroster listen you should be able to hear where it is binding. Does it make any noise when you turn on the fan? Without taking the heater out you can pull the fan motor from under the hood and clean some of it out. Also check the controls to see if the cables are haging up.
