1986 Chevy Camaro is it worth 900?

Hi my names Pat Clark. Im buying an 86 camaro off a buddy of mine for about 900 dollars. He just replaced the distributor and is about to do the alternator. Its got the 305 and there are a few body things wrong. Rust in the wheel wells and a nasty lookin crease in the hood and fender. It will be my first car. And im wondering am I getting taken to the cleaners or is that a good deal?
