1980 Camaro stalls in gear

Hey I recently replaced the engine from a 305 to a 350 bored.40 over it seems to want to stal when I put it in gear un less I give it gas to keep it alive. Also it wants to take off but when I push the gas it doesnt excelerate very fast. I was thinking torque converter?

If it has a high stall torgue converter it may be the problem but on the offset it sounds like a carb problem to me.

The torque converter is stock I was thinking I needed a higher stall like 2300 or so. Because it idles fun and what not but just when I put it in gear.

It may idle funy because you might have a little more than stock cam. Funny idle is also caused by a vacuum leak. Good luck
