I have a 1997 Chevy blazer with the 4.3 liter engine. I drove home from work, turned it off and went inside for about 15 min. I came back out and tried to start the car. The car did not start the first time. The second time I tried it if fired up but as I put it into reverse it died. I tried it again and this time it stayed on and went into gear. I drove it about 10 miles and as I came up to a stoplight the battery light flickered and the car died and would not turn over again. I tried to jump it but ended up having to have it towed to the house. It still will not start and I have no idea where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. It has about 145000 miles

Does the blazer turn over normally? If it does check fuel filter and pump. When the light flickered and you said it would not turn over again did every thing else work? The reason I ask trying to figure out if there is a problem with the electric or the fuel.

The lights and the stereo work but the lights in the instrument panel that normally light up; the battery, ABS, and that kind of stuff do not come on when I trun the key to the forward position. Also I cant hear the fuel pump engage.
