Rear hatch problem

I have a 2000 chevy blazer 2dr utility and rear hatch wont open no matter what I do.I already did what the manual said and nothing happens I even try pounding it nothing happens. Pls help me if there's anybody knows how to fix it thank you

If the latch is broken you will have to climb back there and remove the panels until access to the latch is gained. Electric release? Does the latch click when you hit the release button?

Were you able to get the rear hatch open - we have the same problem but cannot figure out how to get the panel off from inside
