95 Blazer Fuel pump voltage drop

My wife's blazer fuel pump shows 40-45 psi when starting. It will not run. I put a wire to the test lead for the fuel pump and the pressure ran up to 55 psi. I then could run the engine. I started it with the jumper to the test plug and unplugged it after the engine started.

The engine ran fine for 10 minutes or so till I switched it off. Now the jumper has no effect and I am back to 40 psi or so. I put a new relay in and checked the voltage at the relay socket. One leg is hot all the time and another is hot with the key on. At the pump connector with the key on I only get approximately 9 volts.

Check the ground wire, when you use the ALDL to jump the pump you are grounding it.9v should go to 12v when you fix the ground wire.

Check the fuel pump relay, and if there still is not 12v at connector then the fuel pump wiring harness could have a bad wire in it somewhere, could be cracked or coroded. I would try a rewiring it myself and see if that provides a better result.

I put a new relay in and checking the ground on the connector to the body shows no resistance, 0 ohms
