I just got my cooling system flushed and refilled. The mechanic told me I have a leak in my intake manifold gasket and needs to be replaced. The estimate he gave me seemed extremely high, saying it took it a lot of labor to replace it. I just want to know how much labor I should pay for to replace the gasket. Thanks

Its about 4 hr job
you go 4 x how much their hr rate
plus you have to add on the gasket kit for about $50
have to do an oil and filter too $ 25
so I would say 350 to $400

And if you don't want to do it again specify that you want the new updated Fel-pro perma dry gasket set NOT the factory plastic one. It's about 80.00 but worth it in the long run.
