If your car has a problem starting and you know it is not the fuel pump or any other shorts in the system, what else can be causing the car from starting? I was told several years ago that I would evenually need a head gasget, could this be causing my car from turning over?

A bad head gasket will not stop the car from turning over. A blown head gasket will drop the compression in a few cylinders and stop the engine from starting or running well, but if it isn't turning over your problem is in the starter system. Check your battery and starter.
